Lake Update (about last Friday's meeting)

I believe the meeting went well. The premise of it was for The Nature Conservancy and Trout Unlimited to bring their agenda to the community. I'm sure they were very surprised to see that many people come to oppose them on a Friday afternoon. GREAT TURNOUT!! They saw firsthand what these lakes mean to us and the rest of the Yaphank area. Kudos to John Rauh for his last minute polling. There was no mistaking where everyone stood after that.
Thanks to councilwoman Kepert and State assemblyman Alessi for attending. Legislator Browning could'nt make it due to a death in the family. I spoke to both Connie and Mark afterward, and they are working toward a solution, and both are very pleased with the outcome of Peconic River. Their success is a huge benefit for us!
The Councilwoman has been in consultation with the company that treated Peconic, as this is a strong option of the direction we may go. Fortunately, money has been allocated, and doesn't appear to be an obstacle. She has not officially said this, but I believe that after her meeting with them, and other options are analyzed, an official town meeting will take place.  (It won't be on a weekday afternoon)
More to follow as I get it.
