The dedication of the Carmans River Nature Trail and Sanctuary was a wonderful afternoon for all who attended. The temperature was perfect and the sun was shining! All who walked the trail were in awe of the nature and the history of the area. We were pleased to have Legislator Kate Browning join us. Thanks to all who participated!
Our next event is the Halloween Treats for Tots, which wit! be Sunday afternoon, October 29th, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. The Hawkins House will be decorated for the Halloween hijinks and is geared to those youngsters 12 years of age and under. Please come down and visit with us! No admission charge!
Our holiday events are well underway. The Candlelight House Tour is Sunday, December 3rd, from 4:00pm to 8:00 pm. Tickets will be available at the door of the Hawkins House. The Victorian Holiday Dinner is Saturday, December 9th, at 6:30pm, with our French Culinary Institute Chef, Candy Argondizza, already planning a fabulous meal. Donations will be $45 per person. Please call Helen Kalbach at (631) 924-2342, or the Society at (631) 924-3401 for reservations.
Also, please remember that on Saturday, November 18th, our annual ‘Dinner & Dusting’ will begin at 10:00am. A couple of hours of cleaning and sprucing up the Hawkins House will provide you with a wonderful spaghetti dinner at 5:00 pm.
