The annual ‘Dinner & Dusting’ is scheduled for Saturday, November 18th, 2006. The Hawkins House will be open from 10am to 4pm. Come down to dust and polish some furniture, clean windows, vacuum the carpets, or wash the knick-knacks! Two hours or so from many hands will make the workload easy and fun and entitle you to dinner at 5pm. Please leave a message on the answering machine, 924-3401, if you can join us.
The ‘Candlelight House Tour’ will be on Sunday, December 3rd, 2006, from 4pm-8pm, beginning at the Hawkins House. The tour will include The Homan-Trusnovec House, The Mills-Tuthill House, the Yaphank Presbyterian Church, St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, and the Suffolk County Police Garage Museum. Cookies and cider will be served at the Hawkins House, which is also the location of the Bank of the River Gift Shoppe. The donation is $15 per person.
Our twelfth Victorian Holiday Dinner will be Saturday, December 9th, 2006, beginning at 6:30pm at the Hawkins House. Three entrees will be offered: Horseradish Glazed Salmon, Braised Short Ribs, or Pan Roasted Pork Tenderloin. The meal will include appetizer, salad, entree, dessert, and beverages. The donation is $45 per person (gratuities not included). Please call Helen Kalbach, 924- 2342, for reservations.
