The Pine Barrens Need Our Help
Suffolk County Executive Bob Gaffney and the Pine Barrens Law enforcement council needs your help. With more than 54,000 acres of Pine Barrens to protect, the council can't be everywhere, so they have set up a Pine Barrens Watch Program. A new 24-hour toll free hotline has been established so you can report illegal activities directly to our Pine Barrens Law Enforcement Headquarters. If you see dumping or any other illegal activities, occurring in the Pine Barrens, please do not take any direct action.

Contact the 24-hour toll free Pine Barrens hotline at: 1-877-BARRENS ALL CALLS WILL BE KEPT CONFIDENTIAL!

When making a call, please have as much of the following information available as possible: where, what happened, when, how, who did it, if a vehicle was involved, what was its license plate number, make, color, model, year, which way it went, and when it left the park.
